Kolkata Menopause Society Rural activity 2025

30.10.25 – A comprehensive health camp was organized at Anand Ashram, an old age home in Hamiragachi, Hooghly, by Kolkata Menopause Society and the Bengal Obstetric & Gynaecological Society on October 30, 2025.

The camp offered various health services, including:

·        Investigations: ⁠Hb, CBG, TSH, and bone mineral density testing

·        Physical check-ups: BP, pulse, weight measurement

·        Psychological counselling

·        Specific health talk for each beneficiary, as needed

·        Free distribution of medicines

Out of a total 65 inmates of the ashram,

•⁠ 52 beneficiaries underwent BMD testing, out of which 25 beneficiaries are osteopenic and the rest are osteoporotic.

•⁠ 43 beneficiaries had Haemoglobin and CBG tests, out of which 4 beneficiaries had Hb% <10 gm/dl and none were <9 gm/ dl.

•⁠ Raised Blood sugar (Random) by CBG -5 beneficiaries.

•⁠ 36 beneficiaries had TSH tests.

The members present were Dr Nirmala Pipara, Dr Bipasa Sen, Dr Abinash Chandra Ray, Dr Nupur Chakraborty, Dr Tulika Jha and Dr Anirban Bhattacharyya.

The event seems to have provided valuable healthcare services to the elderly residents of the ashram.
